Phinda Forest Lodge 5*

The Phinda Safari Park impresses with a variety of landscapes. There are mountains and savannas, rocky hills and swampy lowlands, river valleys and the ocean coast. The park is home to animals that have become symbols of the African continent - buffalo, white rhinoceros, elephant and giraffe. Zebras and wildebeest and impala graze in the savannahs. At dusk, lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas go hunting. Crocodiles and hippos splash in rivers and lakes. More than 400 species of birds nest in forests and savannas, including pelicans and flamingos. The eastern border of the park runs along the shore of the Indian Ocean. In summer (from November to January), sea turtles crawl out to the beaches to lay their eggs. The coastal waters are home to dolphins and colorful exotic fish.

Key information

Phinda Forest Lodge is located deep in the Sand Forest, which is unique from a botanical point of view. The tree trunks are dotted with bizarre orchids and bright patches of lichens. The secluded bungalows are surrounded on all sides by dense thickets. The bungalows are raised off the ground on stilts and have glass walls through which guests of the lodge can observe the life of the inhabitants of the forest - small duiker antelopes, rare red squirrels and numerous birds.The interiors of the bungalows are designed in a laconic Japanese style.

Leisure

Air trips by plane, cruises along the Mzinene River, excursions to the Zulu village are arranged for guests of the lodge.

Dining experience

Dinner is served on the outdoor terrace overlooking the savannah, in the lodge's dining room or outdoors.
